MELLISSA TONNE
I am an Associate Marriage and Family therapist located in the Bay Area. I graduated from Pacific Oaks College with a specialization in trauma. I am currently working under the supervision of Mary Deggelman, LMFT.
I have worked in a variety of public schools, working with children and adolescents, as well as in private settings with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, life transitions, grief, and complex trauma.
I have a special interest in supporting individuals and couples through pregnancy and the postpartum period, as well as helping parents navigate the challenges and transitions that come with welcoming a new baby. This stage of life often brings significant physical, emotional, and relational changes. My goal is to provide guidance, support, and a safe space as families adjust and grow together.
My approach is meeting the client where they are at and valuing the therapeutic relationship above all else. I utilize Psychodynamic theory, attachment work, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions with my clients. I have Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method and utilize Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy.
I provide remote sessions in the state of California and walk-and-talk therapy local to the Livermore/Pleasanton area.
